Security Asst Manager


Summary:
To assist the Security Manager with developing and managing staff, material assets and policies and procedures.
Develop and conduct training programs.
Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ? Develop, design, coordinate and conduct Security division training programs, which may include new hire training, guest service training, obtain defined goals/standards as well as other ongoing training, as assigned by the Security Manager or Director ? Assist Security Manager with the implementation of the staff management programs including but not limited to hiring, performance management, morale development and termination processes ? Assist Security Manager with the implementation of Treasure Island's drug and alcohol testing program ? Assist Security Manager with banquet event order (BEO) security actions and software verification tracking ? Assist Managers in developing and maintaining internal policies and procedures and coordinate changes with other departments and assist with implementation ? Assist Managers in establishing standards for the reporting of incidents ? Review, approve and disseminate event reports prepared by staff ? Assist Security Manager with tracking and processing trespass actions ? Assist the Director and Security Manager with administrative tasks ? Serve, as assigned, on cross-functional working groups designed to enhance guest service curriculum and outcomes ? Serve as Interim Security Manager during Manager's absence KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge and Certification Required:
? 2-year degree in law enforcement or communication or a combination of education and equivalent experience ? 5 years experience in training, law enforcement or security or a combination thereof ? 3 experience supervising 25 or more individuals in security, law enforcement or casino environment Preferred:
? Knowledge of training in law enforcement, security and/or casino management ? Curriculum development and class facilitation Skills Required:
? Accurate and detail-oriented ? Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities ? Strong computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Windows XP ? Excellent conflict resolution and problem solving skills ? Strong leadership skills ? Proven written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills in the form of classroom training, one on one training and meetings Abilities Required:
? Ability to protect personnel and physical assets of Treasure Island by using physical force when necessary ? Ability to provide clear information and instructions in the form of memos and reports ? Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene ? Ability to serve both internal and external customers ? Ability to manage departmental budget and control labor and expenses ? Ability to maintain a professional demeanor ? Ability to manage projects in a timely and efficient manner ? Ability to speak in a clear, concise and pleasant voice ? Ability to provide leadership and training development to staff REQUIRED TRAINING ? Treasure Island guest service training ? Any position-related training as determined by department manager PHYSICAL DEMANDS ? Must be able to sit, walk and / or stand and exert moderate-paced mobility for long periods throughout the shift ? Must be able to perform security, first aid, safety and control verification functions including the physical force required to control suspects and protect the physical assets of the business ? Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend, kneel and reach ? Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely ? Must infrequently be able to climb ? Must occasionally have the ability to independently lift up to 25
pounds ? Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions ? Must have good eye hand coordination ? Must be able to operate foot pedals WORKING ENVIRONMENT ? Work is performed throughout the entire property (inside and outdoors) and may include flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke and outdoors for guest events ? Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays ?
